We encourage any local artist to visit the lab and sign up for of our Artist discounted memberships available through 2/11/12.

Look for the ARTIST option under “Individual Memberships” on our Membership Page and sign up online.  Or drop by the lab Tuesday-Friday 11am – 8pm and Saturday 11am – 6pm and sign up in person.

These events will take place on Fridays 6-8pm and Saturdays 3-5pm throughout February. Space is limited. So call (918.779.6025) or email (projects@fablabtulsa.com) to reserve your spot!

CUB SCOUTS:  Watch custom pinewood car bodies take shape using 3D computer models and automated milling machines!

Hardesty Center for Fab Lab Tulsa, Oklahoma’s only public digital fabrication workshop, is now offering Cub Scout dens in the Tulsa and surrounding areas the chance to experience automated fabrication technology firsthand in the form of their own pinewood derby car project.

DURING THEIR LAB VISIT SCOUTS WILL:

TOUR the lab space

LEARN about computer-controlled fabrication technology including 3D printing, Laser Cutting, and automatic wood carving.

WATCH the process of turning a pinewood car computer model into the actual wooden car body in just minutes.

TAKE HOME a custom pinewood car body fabricated on the lab’s milling machine.

FEES:

$15 per car – Scout provides BSA pinewood car kit

$20 per car – BSA pinewood car kit included in fee

Interested Cub Scout Dens can contact Hardesty Center for Fab Lab Tulsa at 918.779.6025 or info@fablabtulsa.com for more information and to schedule their visit.  Supervised den visits are preferred to visits from individual scouts, but please call to confirm.  When calling, please tell the lab how many scouts are attending and how many pinewood derby kits are required.

Most importantly these individuals have expressed an interest in refining these ideas and pursuing others through continued hand-on fabriction in the lab.  Fab Lab Tulsa and TMC are happy to support creative Tulsans such as these and hope their 2012 Fab Lab Memberships will contribute to even more innovation.

The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer of Fab Lab Tulsa Incorporated. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, and is responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.

The successful individual will work with the founders of the organization, an actively involved Board of Directors and the current Lab Manager to oversee daily administrative operations including, fundraising, marketing, financial management and programming; supervise Lab operations with assistance of key staff and volunteers; create and manage strategic partnerships with local, state, national and global entities and individuals; and maintain a safe and transparent environment for Lab users.
